How it works

A parent, a player, a phone. Perfect reps.

This is the whole program. Film the swing they have. Learn four positions. Train them slowly, perfectly, every day. Then we take the freezes away until what’s left is a swing they can repeat.

The rule that makes it work

Practice has to be perfect.

Muscle memory does not care what we meant to do. It remembers what the body actually did. A sloppy rep trains a sloppy swing — and then that swing shows up with two strikes.

That is why we go slow. That is why we freeze. That is why we film. If a position is wrong, we stop, we fix it, and we do it again. Speed comes after the pictures are true. Not before.

They must be done perfectly, over and over and over again, so the muscle memory is trained.

Parents

You run the locker

  • Hold the phone. 5–8 feet to the side. Whole body in the frame.
  • Film every training day. Reps without film do not unlock the next phase.
  • Do not pile on cues. The coach gives one thing to fix.
  • If the freeze looks wrong, have them stop and do it right — then film that.
  • Clips stay private until you allow a success story.

Players

You do the swings

  • Slow is how you get fast. Perfect is the job. Speed is later.
  • Freeze. Check the picture. Then move.
  • Hold the finish. If you fall over, the swing was not balanced. Do it again.
  • One cue at a time. Fix that. Then the next one.
  • Hit your daily number — about 20 reps when you’re younger, up to 100 when you’re older. Every one of them counts only if it’s right.

The process

Follow it in order. Do not skip a freeze. Do not skip a film day.

  1. 01

    Parent

    Open a locker

Put the player’s name, age, and who films. Age sets the daily goal — about 20 reps for younger kids, up to 100 for older ones. Clips stay private unless you later allow a success story.

  2. 02

    Player + parent

Film the swing they have today

Day 0. No coaching. Side view. About eight swings. Mark Stance, Load, Contact, Finish and send it to the coach. This is the before — and the first clip in the success story. A dummy clip or a bad angle does not count. Film it again.

  3. 03

    Player

    Learn the four still pictures

Athletic Stance. The Load. Contact. Finish. Watch why we hit this way before you train. These pictures are the swing. Everything after this is repeating them until the body owns them.

  4. 04

    Days 1–5

Four-stop drill — every freeze perfect

Pause at Stance, Load, Contact, and Finish. Slow. Check it. Then move. Film every day. If a freeze is wrong, stop and do it right. Sloppy freezes train the wrong swing. The next phase does not unlock until we have five good film days.

  5. 05

    Next week

    Drop contact

Stance is automatic. Freeze at Load and Finish. Swing through contact. Hold a balanced finish — do not fall over. Film every day for a week. Same rule: if the freeze is not right, it does not count.

  6. 06

    Next week

    Drop load

Only freeze at Finish. Hold it. Stay balanced. This is the last training wheel. The finish tells us if the four positions were in the swing. Film every day for a week.

  7. 07

    Then

    Game swing

No pauses. Same positions, game speed. Film the after. Keep the daily goal. Perfect still matters — now it just happens faster.

  8. 08

    Parent

    Cut the success story

When there is a before and an after, we write a short recap and cut a video. Nothing posts until a parent checks allow this to be posted. Then you can share it.

How a month looks

  1. Day 0

    Baseline film

Eight side-view swings of the swing they have today.

  2. Days 1–5

    Four stops

Pause at Stance, Load, Contact, Finish. Daily reps. Daily film. Coach checks every freeze.

  3. Days 6–12

    Drop contact

Stance is automatic. Freeze at Load and Finish. Hold a balanced finish.

  4. Days 13–19

    Drop load

Only freeze at Finish. Stay balanced. Do not fall over.

  5. Day 20+

    Game swing

No pauses. Film the after. Cut the success story. Share it.

The app will not skip ahead. Five good film days for four-stop. Seven for each drop. Logging reps without film does not count.

How to film

Phone on a fence or tripod, 5–8 feet away, even with the hitter. Side view. Whole body in the frame — toes to the top of the head, and the start of the swing through the follow-through.

  • Landscape. Even with the hitter — not from the pitcher.
  • About eight swings in a set so the coach can see the freezes.
  • Mark Stance → Load → Contact → Finish, then send it.
  • If the coach says the angle is wrong, move the phone and shoot again. That day is not in the book yet.

A training day

  1. 1. Open Today. See the phase and the daily goal.
  2. 2. Do the drill slowly. Freeze only where the phase says. Hold a balanced finish.
  3. 3. If a rep is wrong, throw it out. Perfect reps only.
  4. 4. Film the set. Mark the four pictures. Send to the coach.
  5. 5. Fix the one cue they give you. That is tomorrow’s job.

It will feel unnatural. That is the point.

Building muscle memory

These positions are designed to create muscle memory. When you first start doing them, it will feel really unnatural — that is normal. Most batters have been doing what they’ve been doing for a long time, and that is what their muscles are trained to do.

Think of it like playing a video game. Most kids, when they first start playing, don’t know where the A and the B buttons are. But after a couple of hours, it becomes second nature. That is exactly what we want to create with these positions.

They must be done perfectly, over and over and over again, so the muscle memory is trained. Imperfect reps train the wrong swing. If a freeze is not right, stop, fix it, and do it again. Speed comes after the pictures are true.

Imperfect practice builds the wrong memory. Perfect practice — slow, checked, filmed — is how every kid learns to hit.

What each phase is asking for

  1. 5 days

    Four-Stop Drill

    Pause at every position

From a tee or dry swings: freeze at Stance (count 1), Load (count 2), Contact (count 3), Finish (count 4 and hold). Film a set of 8–12 so the coach can see each freeze.

  2. 7 days

    Drop Contact

Stance is automatic. Freeze at Load and Finish.

Start in a good athletic stance, then move. Freeze at Load. Swing through contact with no pause. Freeze at Finish and hold — stay balanced. Film 8–12 swings.

  3. 7 days

    Drop Load

Only freeze at Finish. Stay balanced.

Full move into the swing. No freeze at stance, load, or contact. Freeze only at Finish and hold — you must be balanced. Film 8–12 swings.

  4. Ongoing

    Game Swing

    No pauses. Hit.

Full, free swings. Tee, toss, then live. Same checkpoints, no freezes. Film 8 swings from the side.
